Call of Duty: Mobile - February 5th Community Update & Public Test Build

Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! We are back today with your usual type of community update filled with info about recently released or upcoming events and modes, but this time we are also happy to share that the next public test build is here! We’ll have that in first section following the events schedule, but it is being released far earlier than normal, especially for one that is filled with content from the next major in-game update. However, for Season 1: New Order the biggest release this week is the featured event, Fight For Humanity.
https://reddit.com/link/ldpeki/video/tei7fdebwrf61/player
This new event, released yesterday, asks you to pick a side and join the fight alongside your fellow players while you earn points in an attempt to control territories. There are many unique rewards to snag this time, both as a team and solo, and we’ll have more details about that event below in its own section of the update.
In this update we also have responses for recent feedback and bug reports alongside various event, store, mode, and playlist updates that recently released or are coming soon. First off though, we want to say thank you to the many players who have reported a variety of bugs and created discussions to give feedback about new features, modes, balance changes, or other aspects unique to this season.
Members of our development teams who create these events, make balance changes, add new pieces of content, game modes, and more, also read your responses and feedback. Thank you all for your dedication, passion, and commitment to making this game better through so many different ways. With that said, let’s jump into this update!
https://preview.redd.it/nhr33madwrf61.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=d92f9a5116c867106b75da4711ad83cde764de4a
Here is a quick look at all of the new events starting today and others launch soon:
  • 02/03 – 02/09 ~ 10v10 Collection (MP)
  • 02/03 ~ Two New Seasonal Challenges
    • Deadly Mist (Gas Grenade) and Premier Operator
  • 02/05 – 02/11 ~ 3v3 GunFight (MP)
    • Check out the Gunfight Trio event
  • 02/05 – 02/11 ~ BR Sniper Only
  • 02/05 – 02/19 ~ Fight For Humanity event
  • 02/05 – 02/18 ~ System Overload Draw
    • The brand-new Ether – Network is here!
  • 02/08 – 02/14 ~ Grind Baby, Grind! (MP)
  • 02/10 – 02/16 ~ Russian Nuketown 24/7 (MP)
  • Coming Soon – Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year store content
*All Dates UTC
We covered a number of these topics in the last community update, but we’ll go over some again if it is launching today or if we have some new information to share. First though, just a reminder that for Battle Royale we have limited modes launching every week in February and the newest mode, Blitz, will be back later in February.
https://preview.redd.it/9v3crd9vwrf61.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d2f76132c10f62ea1ccf812db1329dc2724f4c8
February 5th - Public Test Build We are back quite early in the season with a public test build ready to go for our next update, which does not release until March. This test build will be larger than the last couple in relation to the player limit and new playable content, much of which may release in one of the next two seasons.
We are thrilled this time to announce that we have added iOS to the mix! You'll need Test Flight to access it, but otherwise it should be a relatively straight forward install. Here are all of the usual details, but please note that we have two different APKs to download this time.
  • Begins today on February 5th (PT)
    • Test end date not specified
  • Available for Android and iOS devices
  • Download Size: 2 gigabytes, Wifi connection is highly recommended
  • Player Registration Limit: 40,000 (30K Android, 10K iOS)
  • Content suited for ages 16+
  • All information and player data collected during this test will be deleted
This time around we have two different versions, 32 bit and 64 bit. For anyone unfamiliar, 64 bit is more suited for higher-end/newer devices while 32 bit is generally more suited for lower-end/older devices. We recommend that you only download the 64 bit version if you have no issues running the current version of CODM on the more demanding (high/highest) graphical settings.
With all of that said, the 64 bit version is the ideal version we would like players to test during this specific public test build. If you can, please download and use that version of the build. Please find all of those download links below along with the player registrations limit per version.
  • (Priority) Android - Downloadable via 64 Bit APK here: (Registration Full)
    • 20,000 Player Limit
  • Android - Downloadable via 32 Bit APK here: (Registration Full)
    • 10,000 Player Limit
For iOS players, you’ll just need to have Apple’s Testflight application installed on your phone and this link below should take you to the correct page to download the test build.
  • iOS Testflight Link: (Registration Full)
    • 10,000 Player Limit
We do have a general cap (as listed above) on how many players can enter into both the iOS and Android versions of this test. You unfortunately won’t be able to see if that limit has been met until you try to register an account at the login screen. We’ll update the page here once registration is closed, but this is just a heads up for anyone who manages to download after we’ve hit that limit.
In this build you’ll be able to find a variety of new content, but some of the main ones you might notice are: Shoothouse (MP Map), Shipment 2019 (MP Map), updated Night Modes, Sword & Stones mode, the Truck in BR, new perks, and the new Bull Charge Operator Skill. Of course, there are plenty of smaller changes or new additions hidden in there too, but this is just a glimpse at what you’ll be able to try out.
Some general tips for downloading this rather large file:
  • Do your best to make sure you on a secure uninterrupted connection so that the whole package is downloaded without any issues
  • Try to turn off or stop your device from going into any kind of rest mode
  • If you are running into issues download the file, try using a different browser
  • Make sure you have 5-6 gigabytes of data free on your device
This file and build is independent of the main build, you do not need to remove or do anything with your main CODM application. It will install as another application that is executed separately.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to help us test out this new content and please make sure to report any feedback or bug through the in-game options, like the in-game survey that may not be available right off the bat but will show up once the beta has been out for a while.
Fight for Humanity Sides have been drawn, the field of battle has been laid bare, and the Fight for Humanity has begun! Your first choice is simple, Atlas Corporation or Cordis Die, where will your loyalties lie? Pick one of the two sides, open up the map, see what territory is currently being fought over, and what tasks you can complete to help your side win that battle.
https://preview.redd.it/zab957iyxrf61.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=d12d6a7edf27d89ac7cf5ffac1bbd2f15d67602c
Each side will have its own set of Faction rewards available and they are broken down into milestones, winning prizes, and leaderboard rewards. Each faction has its own version of the Cordite to grab (seen above) and the Russian Merc operator. Additionally, the faction that wins it all will snag the ATV – Override and the those who reach the top of the leaderboards can snag the Legendary Calling Card — Rupture. Through all of those different methods there are many rewards to grab by participating in this global battle of territory control!
Lastly, you can boost your points by using various weapon sets that are indicated in the top right of this event page in-game. If you’d like to get the upper hand with some tips and tricks then head on over to our Fight For Humanity blog post.
Good luck out there and may the best faction win!
Seasonal Challenges Two seasonal challenges are already out in the wild as of last week and now this week two are more coming your way! The first challenge, Premier Operator, is more of your usual type of seasonal challenge with a variety of rewards and tasks, while Deadly Mist is a unique one due to the fact that you can earn a new piece of a tactical equipment the Gas Grenade by completing it. Find the details below!
Premier Operator This six-part seasonal challenge is all about using different operators in Battle Royale and Multiplayer modes. The tasks all vary, ranging from just playing BR matches to getting kills with the S36 while using Outrider. You can earn nearly 20K Battle Pass XP for completing these tasks plus the following rewards:
  • (Uncommon) Mechanic – Warp
  • (Uncommon) S36 – Warp
  • (Rare) Charm – E-Chatter
  • (Rare) Special Ops 5 – Trance
Deadly Mist This five-part seasonal challenge went live a few days ago and it is your rare chance to grab a brand-new piece of equipment. The gas grenade is a tactical grenade that slows down your enemies with debilitating smoke that also provides cover. Complete a variety of tasks related to equipment, scorestreaks, and perks, and you’ll be able to snag this new tactical grenade along with the following items:
  • (Uncommon) Smoke Grenade – Warp
  • (Rare) Calling Card – Dystopia on TV
  • (Common) Gas Grenade
https://preview.redd.it/q44od4330sf61.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=afcc9e6aac686ea0447b4f8763ed595860013219
3v3 Gunfight Mode This tactical showdown played on perfectly symmetrical small maps has returned, but this time around each team is bringing an extra teammate with them for this competitive challenge. This team-based mode released yesterday on 2/5 (UTC) and for anyone unfamiliar with it we have a new video just to show off the basic rules and objectives. Take a look!
https://reddit.com/link/ldpeki/video/uqcb2ql60sf61/player
While you are playing 3v3 Gunfight make sure to check out the Gunfight Trio featured event in order to earn some rewards while you are challenging yourself to intense tactical gameplay. There are eight tasks to this event and they are all straight-forward, like get kills or play matches, and by completing these you can earn the following rewards:
  • (Uncommon) Frag Grenade – The Numbers
  • (Uncommon) Knife – Warp
  • (Rare) Kilo Bolt-Action – Cosmic Wave
  • (Epic) Cyber Clown Frame
System Overload Draw While we rarely highlight any draws, crates, or bundles through these community updates, it is hard not to bring up the System Overload Draw. This draw brings with it the second blueprint for the newest assault rifle, the FR .556 - Superhighway, and of course the highly sought-after new operator, Ether - Network. Here is a glimpse at those two main new pieces of content:
https://reddit.com/link/ldpeki/video/txshs60b0sf61/player
Another unique aspect of this draw, related to the Fight for Humanity event, is the Breach Set. If you acquire the three breach camos for Outlaw, the EMP, and the Karambit then you’ll receive a weapon set bonus for that featured event.
That specific weapon set increases the points earned from battles between factions by 50%. You can find all of the information in-game on this new draw or in the featured event. Get a jump on it while everything is still active.
Feedback Since the Season 1 launch we’ve primarily been focused more on reporting bugs, but there are still a few feedback-related topics we’ve seen come up and have been trying to respond to on a one-to-one basis whenever we are able to. Let’s jump in!
  • Voice Overs – We’ve brought up this topic numerous times in previous updates or on social media channels, but we keep seeing interest in upcoming voice overs, updating current (or missing) voices, and of course brand-new operators. We are of course working on all of those, just like we released many updated voice overs alongside some new ones in Season 1, but we are also working on ways to provide more visibility about all of that in future updates.
  • China Version Content – As you may see in the public test build (if you manage to snag a spot before it is full) we have some content coming in future updates that is also in the Chinese version of CODM, like Trucks in BR. Most likely, we won’t always keep content the same in each version of the game, but the teams managing the game are always working together to coordinate, discuss, and decide what content should release in each version.
  • Cheater Reports – For whatever reason, most of the time we release an update we see an increase in cheater reports. These have traditionally tapered off one or two weeks into the season, but we have seen no abnormal increases in cheaters. We will always keep an eye out for reports in community areas, so please keep sharing, but also please keep reporting in-game as well and we’ll keep monitoring and acting to make sure your experience isn’t compromised.
  • Master of All Event – A special shout-out to those who have been giving feedback back about the unique rewards on this event (6000 credits and BP XP as the final reward). The team was looking to see if this type of reward felt valuable to players and so far all we’ve seen is positive feedback about it, which may pave the way for similar reward setups in the future.
  • Next Update – While we cannot confirm any dates for our next season or update, it is always a moving target for a variety of reasons, we can confirm that the next update will be in March.
Bug Reports We’ve been going through many smaller bug reports lately thanks to threads, PMs, and posts sharing details, videos, or screenshots explaining the issue. We don’t have any huge issues to bring up this week, at least nothing new or seemingly troublesome, but we are working with our teams to investigate many of those smaller issues and please do keep sharing. It is always appreciated!
  • Battle Royale Bugs – We’ve seen a variety of BR related bugs come in over the past two weeks and they vary greatly in relation to the types, the severity of them, and how widespread they seem to be experienced. While we can’t list it all here, we just wanted to give a general shout-out and thank you to several community members who have spent a significant amount of time making videos, screenshots, and posts to highlight these issues clearly.
  • Black Screen Issues – We are happy to say that we have seen fewer reports of these types of issues after the Season 1 release after we implemented some general stability improvements for all players in that update. We’ll have more on that front coming in the next major update (next month) and we’ll be monitoring both in-game and external channels for reports.
  • Blitz Mode Performance – We have seen various discussions about performance issues in Blitz mode due to the changes made to put more players and items in a smaller area. This seems to be a similar issue to why some devices struggle with Warfare mode. We recommend experimenting with different graphical settings before jumping into these modes to see if that helps performance, but we’ll also see if there is anything we can do to help improve performance in these types of modes.
Support Options Lastly, thank you to everyone who have been reporting various issues since Season 1 released and please do keep using our support channels on top of community areas to repot issues. In the off-chance you haven’t seen this information in every single one of our community updates 😉, here are our main support channels:
https://preview.redd.it/5e5mlmwm0sf61.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=8041bf5e80de983c00bcb5cf20bbbe42664d8bb5
One of our greatest pleasures each week is looking through various community areas to see the latest and greatest in CODM memes, but also to see the latest and greatest art designs created by some extremely talented community members! This week, we are thrilled to be able to highlight Sarcstoon, who you may know as Sagar in certain community areas.
Urban Tracker by Sarcstoon
Sarcstoon is a character artist and their online portfolios are filled to the brim with impressively detailed pieces of art that range from CODM operators to commission pieces for real life couples. One thing is clear through all of their pieces, their style is unique and in particular for faces and expressions.
Park Safehouse by Sarcstoon
Whether it is Helen Park or Urban Tracker, they’ve blown us away with their vibrant, welcoming, and charming pieces of work that make us proud that CODM is lucky enough to be a receipent of their designs. If you’d like to see more of Sarcastoon then you have plenty of options to see their work:
Thank you all once again for being the type of community that supports artists and designers by providing positive feedback, supportive words, or even just upvotes or positive reactions. There are so many talented folks in the community and we are always eager to look for more each week.
With all of that said, we’ve come to the end of yet another community update! We plan to return next week with more and with some info on our upcoming Valentine’s Day events & activities. You know us, we love to use holidays as an excuse to design new content, create giveaways, or just create engaging events with the general community.
We’ll see you all next week and for those of you in the public test build make sure to jump on that before we hit that player limit! Thank you all and stay safe out there.

Destructoid - Chris Carter - 10 / 10
To be clear, I'd still wholly recommend this version of 3D World even without Bowser's Fury. The tweaks are small overall, and Bowser's Fury isn't going to sate the most hardcore of Mario fans looking for a brand new game, but the package as a whole is magical. If you were one of the many who missed out on this Wii U classic, fix that.
Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury - 5 / 5 stars
An exceptional first release for Nintendo in 2021
GamesBeat - Mike Minotti - 5 / 5 stars
You can play a lot of 3D Mario games on your Switch. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is just as good as any of them. It contains makes the Wii U game feel better than you remember, and the bonus campaign makes the package one of the best ports Nintendo has brought to the Switch.
God is a Geek - Adam Cook - 10 / 10
Despite multiplayer now being online, it still feels superfluous, but otherwise Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might just be one of those fabled "perfect" games.
Impulsegamer - Chris O'Connor - 5 / 5
Revisit some classic Mario gaming with some added elements to bring it some new life.
Nintendo Life - Chris Scullion - 10 / 10
Super Mario 3D World remains one of the better linear Mario games, and anyone playing it for the first time is in for an absolute treat. Add to that the curious bonus adventure that is Bowser's Fury and you've got a package that provides great value for money. It isn't without its flaws, but most of these (online multiplayer, repetitive missions in Bowser's Fury) relate to the new additions; the main game itself remains as pure and perfect as it was seven years ago. Had it just been Super Mario 3D World on its own, we'd be thoroughly recommending it anyway; Bowser's Fury is just the cherry on top.
VG247 - Alex Donaldson - 5 / 5 stars
Bowser’s Fury is a short experience – it’ll take a competent player a couple of hours to see all it has to offer, and a few hours more to drive it all the way to 100% completion – but it’s completely worthwhile. It has some great surprises, which is why I talk about it in such generalized terms. Bowser’s Fury would’ve made a great download-only, budget-price stand-alone – so as a bonus included with an already excellent game, its value can’t really be overstated.
Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 98 / 100
The best way to play on of the greatest Mario's games. Also, Bowser's Fury is an ambitious expansion with a lot of new ideas.
PowerUp! - Leo Stevenson - 9.8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a showcase of the game design mastery which has made Nintendo the best in the business.
Areajugones - David Cruz - Spanish - 9.5 / 10
‎This is one of the best platforms in history, and its expansion is by no means a minor content, since at some times it shines with more personality than the original title. In short, an indispensable pack has played the video game on Wii U or not, and one of the most essential works of your Nintendo Switch.‎
Cerealkillerz - Manuel Barthes - German - 9.5 / 10
Although Super Mario 3D World is only an implementation for Nintendo Switch, it has not lost any of its charm and ingenuity. The loving optimization for the benefit of the gaming experience, as well as the bonus adventure Bowser's Fury, are convincing across the board and promise fun for up to four players. Even some questionable level designs can hardly tarnish the overall picture.
Nintendo Blast - Eduardo Comerlato - Portuguese - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a package that offers two different ways to experience one of the best 3D Mario adventure, making it ideal for the franchise’s 35th anniversary celebration. There is no doubt that the game is a two-way diversion, able to preserve elements of the past and paint majestic novelties around it, as Bowser Jr. does with his paintbrush in the new and fascinating Bowser’s Fury.
SECTOR.sk - Matúš Štrba - Slovak - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario 3D World is still great, fun and really rich in content. Bowser's Fury adds new layers of gampleay inspired by Sunshine to enjoy.
The Games Machine - Stefano Calzati - Italian - 9.5 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an explosive pack. 3D World returns with an improved pace, while retaining the stellar gameplay that characterized it when it first launched, and of course being still as hilarious as it was back then. Bowser's Fury takes the lesson a step further, creating a small and dense open world that will put you to the test with a sense of urgency unlike any other Super Mario game. The result, needless to say, is pure, unadulterated joy.
Game Informer - Brian Shea - 9.3 / 10
This package combines tried-and-true gameplay and level design with unique concepts (plus an all-new game) to earn its place among the elite games in the franchise
Hobby Consolas - David Martinez - Spanish - 93 / 100
It´s not one, but two great platformers for Nintendo Switch. One of the greatest Wii U games (with improvement such as online multiplayer and photo mode) and a new Mario 3D game, not as big and ambitious as previous games, but equally fun and full of surprises.
Spaziogames - Valentino Cinefra - Italian - 9.3 / 10
If you love platforming (and cats) this is an absolute gem.
Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 9.2 / 10
Super Mario 3D World is an excellent game so if you still haven't played it or simply want it on Switch, this will make a wonderful addition to your gaming library. Oh, and you also get a fantastic bonus game with Bowser's Fury so how could you go wrong?
Wccftech - Rosh Kelly - 9.1 / 10
Super Mario 3D World shows why Mario is an ageless franchise, with the seven-year-old game providing fresh fun and a delightful experience. Bowser's Fury is the exact opposite, showing just how exciting and experimental the series can be.
Critical Hit - Brad Lang - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D is a great game to play solo or with friends and shows off some of Nintendo's best level design yet, while Bowser's Fury is an inventive take on the Mario formula that's more generous with its content than it ought to be. Both games make for a fantastic bundle and should be checked out by fans and non-fans alike.
Forbes - Ollie Barder - 9 / 10
Overall, this is a fantastic collection of Super Mario games. From the focused and demanding Super Mario 3D World to the more experimental, though still very well executed, open world take for Bowser’s Fury. Both games have a lot to offer and will keep you very busy unlocking their innermost secrets.
GAMES.CH - Benjamin Braun - German - 90 / 100
Bowser's Fury is much more than just a bonus . Despite it is relatively short, it still feels like a fully fleshed Mario jump and run. Packed with the great main game including the long missed online co-op mode Super Mario 3D World + Bowers's Fury is a must have for every Switch user.
GameMAG - Александр Копанев - Russian - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for Nintendo Switch effectively handles two important tasks: introducing new players to the classic game that came from the Wii U, as well as pleasing hungry fans with new great content. Definitely a must-play for all Super Mario fans!
GamePro - Tobias Veltin - German - 90 / 100
Super Mario 3D World is still a real fun package with no signs of ageing, which is made even more rewarding by Bowser's Fury.
GameSpew - Kim Snaith - 9 / 10
Aside from some repetition between the two titles, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a joy from start to finish.
GameSpot - Steve Watts - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury packages one of the best recent Mario games with a delightfully odd new experience.
Gameblog - Thomas Pillon - French - 9 / 10
Thans to its many clever tweaks, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury give the player many reasons to enjoy a great 3D platformer, now a little bit faster, and with friends around the globe online. Let's not forget Bowser's Fury, a tiny open world adventure which rightfully mixes gameplays from the Wii U and Switch episodes, and delivers a strong experience with a twist.
GamesRadar+ - Sam Loveridge - 4.5 / 5 stars
Quirky, creative, and constant good fun, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury blends Mario gameplay old and new with great success, creating a title that feels worthy of his 35th birthday celebrations.
Geeks & Com - Anthony Gravel - French - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury offers much more than your regular Switch port with a brand new adventure that packs between 5 and 8 hours of great new original content. I loved my time spent in this new open world of Bowser's Fury and going through 3D World a second time sure was a blast. Hopefully, this new package gives the game the second life that it truly deserves.
IGN Italy - Mattia Ravanelli - Italian - 9 / 10
Simple and immediate, beautiful to see and fun even in multiplayer, Super Mario 3D World is the "what if" of the history of Super Mario. But with obvious limitations compared to Super Mario Odyssey and the other chapters in 3D. Bowser's Fury tries to beat new paths, without avoiding a few slips.
Metro GameCentral - 9 / 10
One of the best modern Super Mario titles is made that little bit better and accompanied by a brand-new game that bends the formula in new and exciting ways.
NintendoWorldReport - Neal Ronaghan - 9 / 10
If you've never played 3D World before or haven't touched it since the Wii U days, this is well worth the price of admission. Prospects get a little tougher if you're not interested in going through 3D World, because while Bowser's Fury is amazing, it's still approximately less than 10 hours of gameplay even if you do everything. But no matter what: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might be one of the strongest Mario games available on Switch. The base game is fun and varied, while Bowser's Fury offers a distinctive, inventive, and superb open-world 3D Mario experience.
PCMag - Jordan Minor - 4.5 / 5 stars
Super Mario 3D World is an incredible and underplayed Wii U adventure that's now available on Switch. But Bowser’s Fury steals the show with its exciting and fresh take on a 3D Mario game.
Press Start - Shannon Grixti - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a fantastic package that showcases what makes Nintendo games so special. Super Mario 3D World is just as good as when it released, and Bower's Fury is a surprisingly good standalone adventure that paves the way for the future of Mario.
Screen Rant - Riley Little - 4.5 / 5 stars
Bowser's Fury adds so much to the Wii U port.
Stevivor - Ben Salter - 9 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a delightful double act. Super Mario 3D World holds up well, and offers a unique multiplayer experience that works particularly well on Switch. Its opening worlds are designed to cater for that varied audience, while the second half injects some much needed difficulty and is best played solo. Bowser’s Fury is experimental in nature, and offers something completely different with a fully open world housing plenty of Shines to collect at a rapid pace. While neither quite reaches the dizzying heights of Super Mario Galaxy or Odyssey, it is a double dose of Mario doing things differently, and a fitting finale to Super Mario’s 35th anniversary.
The Digital Fix - Stephen Hudson - 9 / 10
Near-perfect platforming, gorgeous visuals and a joy-filled soundtrack make Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury one of the best Mario titles of all time, and an essential purchase for all Switch owners.
TheGamer - Dave Aubrey - 4.5 / 5 stars
Ultimately, Super Mario 3D World, in this package, is the best that game has ever been, with the increased speed and ease of multiplayer access making it far more enticing than ever before. Bowser’s Fury, meanwhile, is essentially the Super Mario Odyssey DLC that never was. It feels like Odyssey’s level and game design sensibilities, but placed in the Super Mario 3D World game engine, with all of the power-ups and quirks that game has to make something truly unique. Putting both of these games in one package is the best decision that Nintendo has made in a long while, as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is one of the best Mario offerings available on Nintendo Switch, which is lofty praise given the existence of Super Mario Maker 2. Now it just needs the option to play again, but as Luigi.
TheSixthAxis - Jason Coles - 9 / 10
I can't really recommend Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury enough. Whether you've played the original game before or not, the addition of online multiplayer is a big win, while Bowser's Fury is a testament to just how pure a Mario game can be while still feeling fresh and exciting. Put simply; this is an essential game for Mario fans.
TrustedReviews - Jade King - 4.5 / 5 stars
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is both a welcome return for a platforming classic and a novel expansion of what made the game so special back on the Wii U. There's a solid chance that millions of players missed out on its excellence back in 2013, so now is the perfect time to take it for a spin.
Twinfinite - Chris Jecks - 4.5 / 5
The real star of the show, however, was Bowser’s Fury, which innovates on the foundations laid by previous 3D titles, to provide some of the most enjoyable, open-world platforming I’ve had the pleasure of playing. This is a must-buy for Switch owners and Mario fans alike and is sure to tide you over the next couple of months.
Everyeye.it - Marco Mottura - Italian - 8.8 / 10
As the title itself indicates, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury proves to be more than just the re-proposal in Nintendo Switch sauce of an exclusive Wii U not particularly lucky: the idea of inserting for once a completely new extra is very appreciable, and you find the ideas inside Bowser's Fury are not lacking at all. While the difference in tone and gameplay between the two games is quite right, the overall superiority of Super Mario 3D World over the new adventure is also evident, which ends up being an appendix or little more. The effect is that of a very solid pairing, which once again celebrates the undisputed supremacy of the Great N in the platforming field.
IGN Spain - David Soriano - Spanish - 8.8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World has aged quite well. It is still a very enjoyable adventure, updated in its rhythm and different enough from Super Mario Odyssey for those who came to Switch without going through Wii U to discover it. The big surprise is Bowser's Fury, which transcends the concept of simple DLC and adds mechanics and novelties of epic dimensions.
AusGamers - Kosta Andreadis - 8.6 / 10
It's also as strange as Mario's team-up with a sentient hat that for some reason lets him Being John Malkovich a dinosaur.
COGconnected - James Paley - 80 / 100
These two titles offer distinct, yet familiar, Mario experiences.
Checkpoint Gaming - Tom Quirk - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an excellent case for why Nintendo should be porting more Wii U games to the Switch. With its improved presentation and the convenience of the Switch, this is definitely the optimal way to play Super Mario 3D World, even without much in the way of new features. Bowser’s Fury is also an excellent open-world Mario mini-adventure, which is probably worth the price of admission on its own. Admittedly, the multiplayer features some camera issues, particularly in Bowser’s Fury. However, that should not stop Mario fans of all ages from checking out Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, especially if they missed out on this much loved platformer the first time around.
Cubed3 - Az Elias - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World may not have had much added to it aside from an online function that is limited to only saving progress for the host, but it didn't necessarily need much else. Nintendo successfully found a way to evolve the 2D classics without going open world, and the result is one of the most consistently fresh and enjoyable games around, which, despite lacking the challenge of the NES games, has something for just about everyone. The bonus Bowser's Fury solo adventure is an absolute delight with a brilliant core idea that adds a crazy tension to Mario platforming, but it is hard to present a case for purchasing this pack just to play it. Whilst full of great content, it is too short-lived to feel worth the asking price, and really needs a standalone purchase option. When taking both games into account for those that have not played the original Wii U title, though, this is a cracking bundle of Mario goodness that encapsulates what everyone knows and still loves about the moustachioed hero after an enduring thirty-five years.
Daily Mirror - James Ide - 4 / 5 stars
Bowser's Fury offers some great new ideas and is much more than a simple DLC. It's a great Mario game in its own right, with enough to entice those who played 3D World before with a wholly new and compelling experience, as well as offering one of the most epic showdowns in Nintendo history.
Bowser's Fury is a great take on 3D Mario and finally makes Bowser the menacing villain he deserves to be. The game's only flaw is that it left me wishing there was more of it.
EGM - Michael Goroff - 8 / 10
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is the Wii U port that Switch owners have been waiting for. Besides the inclusion of online multiplayer, 3D World is the same good game that players already experienced on the Wii U, and fans of the series who missed it the first time around will enjoy its hybridization of 2D and 3D Mario gameplay. But the highlight of the package is Bowser's Fury, a scaled-down but surprisingly robust mini 3D Mario game that actually takes some chances.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury achieves its goal as a package and not as individual experiences

This Switch remaster of the Wii U outing for Nintendo's famous plumber comes with online co-op and the strangest Mario adventure yet
LevelUp - Fernando Salinas - Spanish - 7.5 / 10
Glyph brings together the simplest form of platforms and puzzles in one package. It is an entertaining experience that shines for its simplicity. Although it falls short in scope, it fulfills the most important thing: is fun to play.
Washington Post - Jhaan Elker - 75 / 100
Even with the Bowser’s Fury miss, the content is worth it. If you want one of the best and most versatile multiplayer experiences to date for the Nintendo Switch, online or offline, go with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
CGMagazine - Jordan Biordi - 7 / 10
I don’t think Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury annoys me as much as it did on the Wii U, since the Switch already has the best Mario ever made on it; and I do think there is fun to be had with these games, even though I find them to be fairly frustrating. I would still recommend them if you enjoyed the originals, or maybe wanted to play them with younger gamers. Even though I might not go back to it very often, I don’t regret the time spent with it.
IGN - Cam Shea - 7 / 10
Two solid platformers in one; neither of which approaches the franchise's most dizzying heights.
Ars Technica - Kyle Orland - Unscored
Bowser’s Fury works just fine as an added bonus packaged with an under-appreciated platforming gem from the Wii U era. If you’ve never played 3D World before, this is a great chance to catch up on a fresh take on 3D Mario design. If you’re mainly interested in Bowser’s Fury, though, maybe wait until the strong ideas get expanded into a full, standalone game.
Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - Recommended
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury might include the same game that was on the Wii U but it's also a title that needs to be experienced by everyone who owns a Nintendo Switch.

3D World's feast of all things Mario is joined by a fittingly experimental, hugely enjoyable - if slightly scrappy - expansion.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is essentially the same game on Switch that some of you may have experienced on Wii U. While there’s no denying that the new hardware can’t keep up with the game’s ambitions at times, this bundle is at its core another fantastic Mario experience.

Malcolm & Marie is a 2021 American black-and-white romantic drama film written and directed by Sam Levinson. The film stars John David Washington and Zendaya (who both also produced) as the title characters, a director and his girlfriend, whose relationship is tested on the night of his latest film's premiere. The project was the first Hollywood feature to be entirely written, financed, and produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, with filming taking place in secret in June and July 2020.
Malcolm & Marie was released in a limited release on January 29, 2021, before being released digitally on February 5, 2021, by Netflix. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Zendaya and Washington's performances and Levinson's direction, but criticized the screenplay.

◇ STREAMING MEDIA ◇
Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb to stream refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in this manner.[clarification needed] Streaming refers to the delivery method of the medium, rather than the medium itself. Distinguishing delivery method from the media distributed applies specifically to telecommunications networks, as most of the delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television, streaming apps) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs). There are challenges with streaming content on the Internet. For example, users whose Internet connection lacks sufficient bandwidth may experience stops, lags, or slow buffering of the content. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content.
Live streaming is the delivery of Internet content in real-time much as live television broadcasts content over the airwaves via a television signal. Live internet streaming requires a form of source media (e.g. a video camera, an audio interface, screen capture software), an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher, and a content delivery network to distribute and deliver the content. Live streaming does not need to be recorded at the origination point, although it frequently is.
Streaming is an alternative to file downloading, a process in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it. Through streaming, an end-user can use their media player to start playing digital video or digital audio content before the entire file has been transmitted. The term "streaming media" can apply to media other than video and audio, such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are all considered "streaming text".
Elevator music was among the earliest popular music available as streaming media; nowadays Internet television is a common form of streamed media. Some popular streaming services include Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, the video sharing website YouTube, and other sites which stream films and television shows; Apple Music, YouTube Music and Spotify, which stream music; and the video game live streaming site Twitch.
◇ COPYRIGHT ◇
Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time. The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself. A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States.
Some jurisdictions require "fixing" copyrighted works in a tangible form. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rights holders. [better source needed] These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and moral rights such as attribution.
Copyrights can be granted by public law and are in that case considered "territorial rights". This means that copyrights granted by the law of a certain state, do not extend beyond the territory of that specific jurisdiction. Copyrights of this type vary by country; many countries, and sometimes a large group of countries, have made agreements with other countries on procedures applicable when works "cross" national borders or national rights are inconsistent.
Typically, the public law duration of a copyright expires 50 to 100 years after the creator dies, depending on the jurisdiction. Some countries require certain copyright formalities to establishing copyright, others recognize copyright in any completed work, without a formal registration. In general, many believe that the long copyright duration guarantees the better protection of works. However, several scholars argue that the longer duration does not improve the author’s earnings while impeding cultural creativity and diversity. On the contrast, a shortened copyright duration can increase the earnings of authors from their works and enhance cultural diversity and creativity.
◇ MOVIES or FILM ◇
Movies, or films, are a type of visual communication which uses moving pictures and sound to tell stories or teach people something. Most people watch (view) movies as a type of entertainment or a way to have fun. For some people, fun movies can mean movies that make them laugh, while for others it can mean movies that make them cry, or feel afraid.
It is widely believed that copyrights are a must to foster cultural diversity and creativity. However, Parc argues that contrary to prevailing beliefs, imitation and copying do not restrict cultural creativity or diversity but in fact support them further. This argument has been supported by many examples such as Millet and Van Gogh, Picasso, Manet, and Monet, etc.
Most movies are made so that they can be shown on screen in Cinemas and at home. After movies are shown in Cinemas for a period of a few weeks or months, they may be marketed through several other medias. They are shown on pay television or cable television, and sold or rented on DVD disks or videocassette tapes, so that people can watch the movies at home. You can also download or stream movies. Older movies are shown on television broadcasting stations.
A movie camera or video camera takes pictures very quickly, usually at 24 or 25 pictures (frames) every second. When a movie projector, a computer, or a television shows the pictures at that rate, it looks like the things shown in the set of pictures are really moving. Sound is either recorded at the same time, or added later. The sounds in a movie usually include the sounds of people talking (which is called dialogue), music (which is called the "soundtrack"), and sound effects, the sounds of activities that are happening in the movie (such as doors opening or guns being fired). In the 20th century the camera used photographic film. The product is still often called a "film" even though there usually is no film.
A genre is a word for a type of movie or a style of movie. Movies can be fictional (made up), or documentary (showing 'real life'), or a mix of the two. Although hundreds of movies are made every year, there are very few that do not follow a small number of set plots, or stories. Some movies mix together two or more genres.
Action movies have a lot of exciting effects like car chases and gun fights, involving stuntmen. They usually involve 'goodies' and 'baddies', so war and crime are common subjects. Action movies usually need very little effort to watch, since the plot is normally simple. For example, in Die Hard, terrorists take control of a skyscraper and ask for a big ransom in exchange for not killing the hostage workers. One hero somehow manages to save everyone. Action movies do not usually make people cry, but if the action movie is also a drama, emotion will be involved.
Adventure Movies usually involve a hero who sets out on a quest to save the world or loved ones.
Animated movies use artificial images like talking cartoons to tell a story. These movies used to be drawn by hand, one frame at a time, but are now made on computers.
Buddy movies involve 2 heroes, one must save the other, both must overcome obstacles. Buddy movies often involve comedy, but there is also some emotion, because of the close friendship between the 'buddies'.
Comedies are funny movies about people being silly or doing unusual things or being in silly or unusual situations that make the audience laugh.
Documentaries are movies that are (or claim to be) about real people and real events. They are nearly always serious and may involve strongly emotional subjects, for example cruelty.
Dramas are serious, and often about people falling in love or needing to make a big decision in their life. They tell stories about relationships between people. They usually follow a basic plot where one or two main characters (each actor plays a character) have to 'overcome' (get past) an obstacle (the thing stopping them) to get what they want.
Tragedies are always dramas, and are about people in trouble. For example, a husband and wife who are divorcing must each try to prove to a court of law that they are the best person to take care of their child. Emotion (feelings) are a big part of the movie and the audience (people watching the movie) may get upset and even cry.
Film noir movies are 1940s-era detective dramas about crime and violence.
Family movies are made to be good for the entire family. They are mainly made for children but often entertaining for adults as well. Disney is famous for their family movies.
Horror movies use fear to excite the audience. Music, lighting and sets (man-made places in movie studios where the movie is made) are all designed to add to the feeling.
Romantic Comedies (Rom-Coms) are usually love stories about 2 people from different worlds, who must overcome obstacles to be together. Rom-Coms are usually light-hearten, but may include some emotion.
Comedy horror movies blend horror and comic motifs in its plots. Movies in this genre sometimes use black comedy as the main form of humor.
Science fiction movies are set in the future or in outer space. Some use their future or alien settings to ask questions about the meaning of life or how we should think about life. Science fiction movies often use special effects to create images of alien worlds, outer space, alien creatures, and spaceships.
Fantasy movies include magical and impossible things that any real human being cannot do.
Thrillers are usually about a mystery, strange event, or crime that needs to be solved. The audience is kept guessing until the final minutes, when there are usually 'twists' in the plot (surprises).
Suspense movies keep you on the edge of your seat. They usually have multiple twists that confuse the watcher.
Western movies tell stories about cowboys in the western United States in the 1870s and 1880s. They are usually action movies, but with historical costumes. Some involve Native Americans. Not all films that are set in the American West are made there. For example, Western films made in Italy are called Spaghetti Westerns. Some films can also use Western plots even if they are set in other places.

[Guide] The Grand Mafia - Mansion Level 17

Overview

This game is another city builder clone. It surprisingly doesn't take long to complete due to being able to stack a lot of building speed boosts. By the time I was done, I had +154.8% and I'm sure I could have gotten it higher if I tried to. This game is a breeze to complete compared to some other ones, and you really only have to check on it once in a while after the first day. I ended the game with 20-40 million extra of each resource, and the final mansion upgrade needed less than 1 million each. The only real downside to this game is that there is almost no online resources about it. Even the wiki is pitiful. The game itself is pretty dead, so you shouldn't need to worry much about being attacked. This can make it hard to find a useful Faction though.

Offer Name The Grand Mafia
Offer Wall None. I found this on the gaming section of GG2U
Device Used The offer states it's for android.
Amount $18 - Swagbucks now has it for $20.
Time Limit 40 days
Time Spent 6 days. I was level 9 the first day, 12 on the 4th day, 14 on the 5th day. I completed the game on the night of the 6th day by burning my gold on speedups.
Note: This game took a few days to credit for me. I didn't receive any notice about it pending, but the money showed up after a few days.

Leveling your mansion

There isn't much need to upgrade buildings aside from what is required for your mansion. You will have more than enough resources, so only upgrade the resource buildings when you can instantly upgrade them. Keep upgrading your Investment Center until you can get level 6 of Labor Unions. It's not really worth it to go beyond that. Aside from that, just work your way through what's required for the Story. By the end, I got to Chapter 5-4.
Once you get to mansion level 3, you will get a second builder for 1 day. Take advantage of it, because this is the last you will have it! The only way to get a 2nd builder after this is to buy the $25 package, which might be a monthly fee. It says that you can get 3 days for free. I don't trust these games to cancel a subscription so I did not test it, but if you're feeling daring you could give it a go. A second builder is immensely helpful.

The wiki contained very little information, so I jotted down what buildings you will need. Each Mansion upgrade will require a Wall, which requires a Workshop, which requires a Smelter. I will note this by using the following format: Smelter → Workshop → Wall.
Mansion Upgrade Building Requirements
6 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Vault
7 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center → Hospital
8 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Investment Center
9 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Black Market & Bank + Warehouse → Diamond Lab
10 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center
11 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center → Radar
12 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Vault
13 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center → Hospital
14 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Investment Center
15 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Black Market
16 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center
17 Smelter → Workshop → Wall & Gunsmith → Training Center → Radar & Bank + Warehouse → Diamond Lab
Each one of the upgrades seems to follow a rotating pattern from Vault to Radar. Diamond Lab is required every 8 levels (so the next one is required at level 24). If you are doing an offer for a higher level Mansion, you can probably assume it follows the same pattern.

Building Speed

One great thing about this game is how much building speed you can stack. I ended the game with +154.8% speed which means that I only spent about 40% of the time originally required. I'm not entirely sure where the extra 2% came from (possibly from raising your VIP or Mansion level), however there are three ways to significantly increase your building speed:
  1. Research Labor Unions in your Investment Center. At level 6 this will give you 21%
  2. Craft the Architect Set at the Workshop and upgrade them as you're able. This gave me 26.8% Warning: The gear is taken off when you are upgrading, so make sure to start any building queues before starting a gear upgrade.
  3. Underboss Specialties - There are two construction related ones and they should be your main priorities. The first one gives 40% and the second one gives 65%. After you get the construction, it can be helpful to get the Investment and Training Speed Specialties.

The main ways to obtain timer reduction items is:

Research at the Investment Center

Your main priority should be Labor Unions in the Economy section. This will reduce your construction time. You want to level this up as soon as possible, and then stop once it is level 6. Aside from this, the rest of the investments aren't too important. It can be helpful though, and it can help you to complete some events so I will put my recommendations.
Next you should focus on unlocking one of the tier 2 troops under the Crew section. Unlocking the troops will require you to upgrade Training Speed → Recon or Expedition → ATK Training → DEF Training. I recommend getting the bikers (aka: Street Stormer) since they are the fastest unit of the bunch. Tier 2 troops are slower and cost more resources, so they're not really good for gathering resources. I didn't find this to be an issue, but if you're playing to a higher mansion level then you may want to focus on tier 1 Brawlers for their superior load capacity and decent speed.
Next up, aim for Kingpins II under Kingpins. Once you have that, upgrade Energy Recovery, Energy Limit, and Energy Consumption. Some of the other investments under the Economy section can be instantly completed or done in a short time, so these can be good if you have an event going and need the points quickly. After that just research whatever seems like it will take a while. This will potentially allow you to meet an event goal when it completes.

Dailies

Events

This game has a ton of events, but you don't need to worry too much about doing them. It can be helpful to do the Personal and Hell events in the beginning, but later on you'll mostly end up ignoring them since the rewards won't be worth the effort.
The Personal Event resets every 3 hours, and the Hell Event resets every 1 hour. I recommend trying to hit stage 3 of these in the beginning. Later on even getting to stage 2 will be fairly difficult. Other events are hit or miss. Check them out, but don't expect to focus too much on them. I liked to train troops and do research with the hope that I'll manage to complete a stage of the event. You'll have excess resources anyways.

Most other events are mostly a waste of time. Take a look at them from time to time to see if there's any dailies or otherwise useful events.

If you get an event that has you decoding a safe's password by revealing a code, there's an easy trick to it. You will need 4 numbers, and each number will have 8 boxes to reveal. First, select the box in the middle left. If the first box is a straight vertical line, that number is 0. If it is an upside down L ( Γ ), the number is 2. If it is a horizontal line, the number is 3.
If the line is like an L, the number can be 4, 5, or 9. If it is like a sideways T ( ⊢ ), it can be 6 or 8. If it is empty, it can be 1 or 7. To figure out exactly which number it is, reveal the top right corner as well. If the top right corner is an angle ( ┓), it can be 2, 7, 8, or 9. If it's a straight line, it can be 1 or 4. Figure out which number matches in both the left and the right boxes, and that will tell you what number that box is.

Enforcer

When you send your troops out to battle, you can send a few enforcers with them. Enforcers are also used in the Campaign. Each enforcer has different skills and uses different gear. Pretty much all you need to know about Enforces is:

Troops

Keep training troops all the time. Bikers are a good choice (Dirt Devil, Street Stormer, etc) since they are quick. Bruisers (Hoodlum, etc) are also a good choice for their decent speed an higher load. You will get a lot of events that need you to train troops, and it's helpful to have a lot if you attack anyone or do raids.

Should you spend real money?

I don't recommend it. This game is pretty easy without spending anything. If you were to spend money, the only thing you would need is more speedups.

Other tips/notes for this game:

General tips for these type of city builder mobile games:

Common Questions

Can I do this if I already completed it on another offer wall or played the game before on my own?

Generally, no. Almost all of these games state that it's for new users only.

What if I do it on another site?

No.

I don't see the offer! What do I do?

It's possible it simply isn't available for you. I'm from the USA, and many offers are not available outside the USA. If you are from the USA, try checking on the site I did the offer on or on a different site. Sometimes they're only on certain sites. It's also possible that the offer is no longer available.

What do I do if the mobile shortlink isn't working? What does ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED mean?

First off, try using a different browser. I have had issues with Chrome opening links before. If you are still getting an error, it's likely that your device isn't eligible for this offer. Even if it might be able to run the app, sometimes the offers put in specific requirements for devices. In this case, the only thing you can do is try a different device.

I completed the task but I didn't get credit for it! What do I do?

First, wait 24 hours. Most of these games credit within a few minutes, but they may take up to a day sometimes.
Next, check to see if the offer has been completed through the offer wall. If it has not, you must contact the specific offer wall that you completed the task on. For example, if you do this task on Site-xyz through AdGate you have to contact AdGate. If the offer shows as completed but you did not get your points, then the points may have been held and you will need to contact the specific site.

This takes so long! Why would you waste your time for a couple bucks?!

I play these games in between other work or on the weekends. I don't do them instead of better paying work, but rather along side it in my down time or while I'm watching TV. City builder games take a while, but most of it is just waiting around for things to finish building. I'm also a gamer, so I enjoy playing games.

Have any more tips? Let users know in the comments!

As always, this is my first time playing this game. I have a lot of experience playing these sorts of games, but each one is a little bit different. All advice is based on my personal experience and my playstyle.

Thanks for the memories?

I have been playing this game on and off over the years with this most recent wipe the longest I have put time into this game. Dealing with all the crazy issues that most of the average player base deals with regularly with learning just to laugh it off as part of the game.
I am on my off season for work, which has given me time to play almost daily since the Wipe, and weeks leading up to it.
A week ago, my e-mail decided to just stop working on their email authorization server. I have used the account since purchasing the game, 4 years ago, up until last week.
The day was bad. Desync was bad. Load times were bad. Stutters were bad. Worse than your average day... so I decided to hit it with the fresh install. Shouldn't be a problem? I played all morning. I was wrong.
After uninstalling the game and attempting to log onto the website I noticed that I was not getting my email's for authentication codes. Which I literally had gotten one at the start of the month when I re-installed then as well. So the email had been working and was working.
After thinking it might be the system I checked another account, instant auth e-mail. I whitelisted on my email provider. I checked spam and I put in a ticket 6 days ago. (This account doesn't have a copy of tarkov on it).
I get a response today telling me to do everything I already did. As if your support didn't even read the problem and brainless copy + pasted the same reply to every questions hes being asked to handle today.
This support level + lack of care is on a level of a company I like to call Trion Worlds. They handled their community with the same lack of care as yours and they destroyed the community. The lies, the screening posts and lack of general care for their average player base literally ruined a great game.
Here is one of the suggestions I got from you support. " You can change your e-mail address through the profile page".
O rly? I need the auth e-mail to access my profile, and that's the problem I clearly stated and wrote and that's the level of support I got from your team after a WEEK of waiting... A WEEK just to get into my account to play your game. So what's it gonna be ? Another week to be told to check my spam again? How does this make sense? For no reason I haven't been able to play your game and obviously judging by the huge lack of any care of offering any support - you guys just dont give a shit about your players that need actual help. This is such a simple solution, like offering to change my email for me after showing proof? Or maybe sending me an auth email manually to see if that helps? Nah. That would mean you were actually doing your job and helping out someone who plays and paid for your game.
It's like I am asking you as a friend, "Hey I am out of gas man, can you drive me to the gas station so I can get my car going again? And youre reply is.... "oh youre out of gas? Why dont you go drive to the gas station and get some?" Complete fucking brain dead.
Remember its the people who bought your game and play it that keep the money in your pockets. You would think you would try to actually keep some of them around with the fiery shit show the game is.
So thanks for letting my buy your game, thank you for not helping me with bare minimum support. Thanks for stealing my money. Good job BSG.
EDIT** Very big thank you to the reddit community who has come to me with many possible solutions to a work around. Anyone with similar problems I highly recommend taking a look through these comments. I am still unable to access my account and I have done what was suggested and I have emailed again with all my emails and proof of purchase. I explained again what the problem was and I hope they help me with changing my email this time and not asking me to log in to change my email.
Its actually insane to me the level or steps that some have gone through or steps that has to be taken to do something as simple as log in to play the game. For such a wild game this community is solid af. Hopefully I will be raiding soon and if not... well that's just the way she goes I guess.
EDIT #2 - SO Finally. I was waiting on my friend to pack the game for me and resend me all the game files. This took a bit of time but after receiving the launcher + game files through google drive and re-installing this way I was able to get through the launcher to at least install the game.
I STILL can not access my email or access the webpage with out an authorization, which means I still can't change my email or access my profile. I will still need support to help me gain access to my account to change my email. It is strange that I can't access the webpage or get an email to authorize my game sent to me - but my friend just copy pasting me the game files lets me log into the launcher no problem. This seems like a very weird issue.
If you are having problems with support helping you and you are having these problems - have a friend you trust just send you a copy of the game files + launcher. Crazy.
Tarkov community is the best community.
I highly suggest you have your launcher available for download without logging on to the website for temporary fixes like this on your webpage. The authorization email, which im being required to log online, does not matter when I just log on through the launcher (somehow). This would allow a player' with this potential problem to wait for some sort of support and email change BUT STILL being able to access their account on their pc end (possibly). This creates a much better option then just feeling hooped and then being told to check a spam folder and waiting around with minimal options.
This is a janky band-aid option for sure (still doesn't make sense) but its the furthest I have been able to get since last week with the help of the reddit community.

Film, also called movie, motion picture or moving picture, is a visual art-form used to simulate experiences that communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere through the use of moving images. These images are generally accompanied by sound, and more rarely, other sensory stimulations.[1] The word “cinema”, short for cinematography, is often used to refer to filmmaking and the film industry, and to the art form that is the result of it.❏ STREAMING MEDIA ❏Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content.Live streaming is the delivery of Internet content in real-time much as live television broadcasts content over the airwaves via a television signal. Live internet streaming requires a form of source media (e.g. a video camera, an audio interface, screen capture software), an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher, and a content delivery network to distribute and deliver the content. Live streaming does not need to be recorded at the origination point, although it frequently is.Streaming is an alternative to file downloading, a process in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it. Through streaming, an end-user can use their media player to start playing digital video or digital audio content before the entire file has been transmitted. The term “streaming media” can apply to media other than video and audio, such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are all considered “streaming text”.❏ COPYRIGHT CONTENT ❏Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time.[1][2][3][4][5] The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself.[6][7][8] A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States. Some jurisdictions require “fixing” copyrighted works in a tangible form. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rights holders.[citation needed][9][10][11][12] These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and moral rights such as attribution.[13]Copyrights can be granted by public law and are in that case considered “territorial rights”. This means that copyrights granted by the law of a certain state, do not extend beyond the territory of that specific jurisdiction. Copyrights of this type vary by country; many countries, and sometimes a large group of countries, have made agreements with other countries on procedures applicable when works “cross” national borders or national rights are inconsistent.[14]Typically, the public law duration of a copyright expires 50 to 100 years after the creator dies, depending on the jurisdiction. Some countries require certain copyright formalities[5] to establishing copyright, others recognize copyright in any completed work, without a formal registration. It is widely believed that copyrights are a must to foster cultural diversity and creativity. However, Parc argues that contrary to prevailing beliefs, imitation and copying do not restrict cultural creativity or diversity but in fact support them further. This argument has been supported by many examples such as Millet and Van Gogh, Picasso, Manet, and Monet, etc.[15]❏ GOODS OF SERVICES ❏Credit (from Latin credit, “(he/she/it) believes”) is the trust which allows one party to provide money or resources to another party wherein the second party does not reimburse the first party immediately (thereby generating a debt), but promises either to repay or return those resources (or other materials of equal value) at a later date.[1] In other words, credit is a method of making reciprocity formal, legally enforceable, and extensible to a large group of unrelated people. The resources provided may be financial (e.g. granting a loan), or they may consist of goods or services (e.g. consumer credit). Credit encompasses any form of deferred payment.[2] Credit is extended by a creditor, also known as a lender, to a debtor, also known as a borrower.

Dara in Jasenovac is a 2021 American neo-noir crime thriller film written and directed by John Lee Hancock, and produced by Hancock and Mark Johnson. The plot follows two police officers (Denzel Washington and Rami Malek) who try to catch a serial killer in Los Angeles, when they find a strange man (Jared Leto) who becomes their top suspect. Dara in Jasenovac was released in the United States on January 29, 2021 by Warner Bros. Pictures, as well as a month-long simultaneous release on the HBO Max streaming service. The film received mixed reviews. ◇ STREAMING MEDIA ◇ Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The term “streaming media” can apply to media other than video and audio, such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are all considered “streaming text”. ◇ COPYRIGHT ◇ Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time. The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself. Some jurisdictions require “fixing” copyrighted works in a tangible form. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rights holders. [better source needed] These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and moral rights such as attribution. Copyrights can be granted by public law and are in that case considered “territorial rights”. This means that copyrights granted by the law of a certain state, do not extend beyond the territory of that specific jurisdiction. ◇ MOVIES or FILM ◇ Movies, or films, are a type of visual communication which uses moving pictures and sound to tell stories or teach people something. A movie camera or video camera takes pictures very quickly, usually at 24 or 24 pictures (frames) every second. When a movie projector, a computer, or a television shows the pictures at that rate, it looks like the things shown in the set of pictures are really moving. Sound is either recorded at the same time, or added later. The sounds in a movie usually include the sounds of people talking (which is called dialogue), music (which is called the “soundtrack”), and sound effects, the sounds of activities that are happening in the movie (such as doors opening or guns being fired). In the 20th century the camera used photographic film. The product is still often called a “film” even though there usually is no film. A genre is a word for a type of movie or a style of movie. Movies can be fictional (made up), or documentary (showing ‘real life’), or a mix of the two. Although hundreds of movies are made every year, there are very few that do not follow a small number of set plots, or stories. Some movies mix together two or more genres. Action movies have a lot of exciting effects like car chases and gun fights, involving stuntmen. They usually involve ‘goodies’ and ‘baddies’, so war and crime are common subjects. Buddy movies often involve comedy, but there is also some emotion, because of the close friendship between the ‘buddies’. They usually follow a basic plot where one or two main characters (each actor plays a character) have to ‘overcome’ (get past) an obstacle (the thing stopping them) to get what they want. The audience is kept guessing until the final minutes, when there are usually ‘twists’ in the plot (surprises).

5 years of mixing and mastering experience: Top things I've learned that will save you time and energy to understand now if you're a beginner

Foreword / Background
I'm writing this first and foremost because my journey of getting to the point where I am now, where I can go into a mix knowing pretty much exactly what I need to really bring my ideas to life, took way longer of a time to reach than I think it should have. I say that because much of the advice I'm going to give actually makes practical sense when explained in a certain way, and even after watching hours of YouTube mixing and mastering tutorials (sometimes giving conflicting advice) it took me good amount of time to piece a few basic mixing and mastering (m&m) concepts together that now provide me with a solid foundation of knowledge that I can use going into every mix. It should be kept in mind that I am not a professional m&m engineer, but m&m is a huge hobby of mine that I definitely wouldn't mind making into a career one day.
In all honesty, I think a big reason it took me more time than it should have was because I was very impatient and didn't want to take the time to watch more tutorials and put in more hours learning. Early in my journey for about 2-3 years, before I got a 49-key midi keyboard, I used strictly samples downloaded from YouTube, had only stock plug-ins from Ableton Live Intro, and had very limited m&m knowledge...I would simply download a track I wanted to chop up or loop from YouTube, add some drums with my drums pad, add a stock EQ 3 to each track, boost the bass and call it a day. If you have at least some experience with m&m you might have chuckled inside a little at me putting that in bold because you understand how bad that is. I was simply too naive to understand that what I heard in my head...what I thought I heard in my mix...wasn't actually a reality in my track...mainly in terms of energy and clarity. I would get overexcited and start nodding my head as I "mixed" which I didn't realize until later gave me the false impression of actual movement and dynamics. For my hip-hop cats, or anyone else that works with music which places emphasis on the 1st and 3rd beats in a measure...this isn't to say that head nodding is bad. I still head nod...it's almost inevitable if you're really feeling a track...but I frequently try and consciously m&m without head nodding so that I can hear what my track sounds like from someone who isn't expecting to feel it or like it. This is important because if you can hear your mix from this perspective, you can add energy and adjust dynamics in places that are necessary in order to suggest, or even persuade one to head nod, or feel any type of emotion you want that person to feel.
It's true that you can get conflicting advice by going the YouTube route (mostly because as you come to understand the m&m process you understand that there are actually a few different avenues and methods for achieving the sound you want), but that shouldn't deter you from being exposed to different concepts and ideas, trying them, and seeing what works for the sound you're trying to achieve.
To clarify, I mainly work with samples and also original sounds to make "hip-hop" beats with interesting melodies, sometimes no drums, frequently accompanied by hip-hop acapellas I find online. But that doesn't mean there aren't common, universal principles that can be applied to all genres of music...so if you aren't into that vibe I think you can still get valuable information from what I explain here. I was inspired to get into the game by LA producer Knxwledge, who established his niche coupling old soul / R&B samples with acapellas from today's most well-known rappers. He, CoryaYo, Walterwarm, and Cookin' Soul I would say are all of my most influential producers in the game today.

Understanding the Basics

We can all agree for the most part that a good mix is one that has good dynamics (what I call "energy management"), clarity, and a full sound. I think every prospective producer at some point faces the unfortunate reality that achieving all three of these traits in a mix is a bit more complex than they realize. I know for me it was very frustrating once I realized how much I didn't know and how many different elements needed to come together to achieve the sound I wanted and the vision I had in my head. I think it's very easy to get overwhelmed by the library of sounds and effects that come with most DAWs...at least I know that was the case for me. It's good to remember that every single effect was created for a specific purpose, to solve a specific problem, so just because I don't mention a few in this post doesn't mean they aren't just as valuable as some of the other elements I mention here. I would suggest looking up either online video courses or YouTube videos/series of someone explaining to you the function of every element in your DAW. If they have sample audio they are using to show you what each effect does, or the effect that each knob has, that's a huge plus but ultimately unnecessary as you can (should) play around with your own sounds in your own DAW so you can get a better idea as to what each effect is actually doing to your sound.
To me, explaining many of these m&m principles can be a lot like trying to explain to someone how to ollie on a skateboard. You can explain it to them all you want but they aren't going to get good at it until they practice enough and eventually most importantly come to an unequivocal understanding of what they need to do in order to ollie.
Before getting to the meat of this post, I also want to say that like I mentioned earlier there are multiple ways and strategies to m&m and achieving a desirable outcome, so try not to take my words and suggestions here as code or law. There might be and most likely are other ways of achieving certain things and dealing with certain problems that I am not aware of. But even with that, I am sharing this because I believe that with the knowledge I've gained I can at least help a novice get their sound to a level that makes the production process much more enjoyable for them. Of course I am open to constructive criticism in the comments and am always willing to learn, or at least doing my best to be.
EQ & Gain Staging
I personally believe that EQ and gain staging are the single most important elements to master and pay attention to in order to get the basic shape and dynamics of the sound you want. Before you do anything else, I think it is pretty universal advice to simply adjust the gain knobs on the faders of all tracks in your mix until you get the "best" shape and clarity. I put 'best' in quotation marks in order to emphasize how subjective that is in the music world and the creative arts world in general. If you take the time to gain stage before anything else, I guarantee that in itself will help with the sound of your mixes pretty substantially. Especially in hip hop, generally the snare and the drum should be the the loudest sounds, respectively.
In the last few weeks I have been paying special attention to these two elements, dedicating the majority of my focus to gain staging and EQing and my sound quality has increased pretty substantially. Especially when mixing multiple tracks, EQing and gain staging is even more important to make sure that every element of your mix has clarity and proper gain levels at certain frequency ranges, or else you will run into clipping and distortion issues. This article seems to provide a very solid, basic understanding of clipping and why it happens for anyone that might be interested. Here is a snippet from the article explaining why clipping happens in technical terms:
"When a signal reaches 0 dBFS (full-scale) on a meter, we’ve run out of headroom and potentially into digital clipping issues. This is because our system has run out of 1s and 0s to accurately convert our signal into digital information. Any excess data is disregarded, which can result in digital clipping–a sine wave hitting its ceiling and becoming a square wave."
When you import any track to your DAW, or play any midi sound, every frequency range in that track is playing at a certain decibel (dB) range, or gain level. A reading of the gain level for each frequency can most importantly be heard with a trained ear, but can should also be displayed by reading the live transient graph in your EQ interface (unless it's a super simple EQ like Ableton's EQ 3 that is very elementary in its capabilities...so in that case I would highly suggest at least downloading a free, 6- or 8-band EQ to start out and give you more control over your sound).
Some, what many refer to as "problem frequencies", are easy to spot and remove, such as harsh vocals or a boomy bass. But some frequencies are problematic but less obvious, namely the 100-300 Hz range that can contribute to a lot of muddiness and loss of clarity in a track, but can also remove punch and thump if reduced by too many decibels. If you haven't already, you will learn how delicate of a process mixing actually is, especially EQing. While I mentioned that there are indeed multiple ways of creating the sound you want, each of those avenues requires the same amount of meticulous decision-making that eventually culminates in a mix with energy, breathability, high dynamic range, and clarity. Every 0.1 increase or decrease in gain has a subtle but also substantial effect on not just that one track or sound, but also the rest of the mix and how it fits in with everything.
One thing I definitely wish I would have known a few years ago was to turn knobs / adjust gain levels slowly and really pay attention to what each incremental increase and decrease in gain was doing to my overall sound. I mean at first in order to get an idea of what an effect is doing it's definitely helpful to push certain knobs to extreme levels, but when it comes to getting a track to sit in with the rest of the mix in the way you want, it can be a delicate process. Especially with EQ, of course you want to get rid of problem frequencies, but you also don't want to kill the energy of a track. For example, in working with soul samples often coming from vinyl recordings, the mid-range can be harsh. Until I realized how important it is to adjust things like gain and Q (width of the frequency band you're boosting / cutting) slowly and deliberately, I would succeed in removing the harsh frequencies but I would also lose a lot of mid-range and energy because I would cut way more than I need to.
Another tip I have for boosting / cutting is to use a "band shelf" shape for cutting frequencies and a "proportional q" shape for boosting frequencies. I don't always do this...again it's important to use your own ear and judgment. The primarily reason I prefer to use a shelf to cut is because a shelf enables you to reduce the gain of multiple frequencies that are close to one another in a way that doesn't also require you to reduce the gain of the frequencies around that frequency you're trying to cut more than you need to. It sounds more complicated than it actually is but I promise this is something you should look into and understand so that you can cut and boost with precision without compromising the fullness of your mix.
In general, especially with the loudness war going on, louder can deceivingly sound better, but may not actually be better. I say this because usually, unless you have a limiter or a saturator as the last destination for your signal, any increase in gain, no matter how small, is going to change the shape and dynamics of both the track and of your mix. You don't want this, at least if you're trying to get people to feel a certain way at certain points in your track and create a final mix that is loud but also has a high dynamic range (HDR). Not to say that saturators and limiters are the answer to getting your tracks louder without clipping and losing dynamics...used in a mindful and strategic way they can definitely help to beef up a sound, but there is still a delicate balance of Dry/Wet to be struck if you want to achieve your desired sound without compromising dynamics or changing the very elements that make a sound unique.
To go back to the issue of clipping, I would also suggest that clipping is not always bad just as they mention in that article. Since applying the knowledge I am sharing here pertaining to EQing and gain staging, I have been able to get to a point in my m&m process where I can either:
  1. Have the elements of a song mixed, EQed, compressed, panned, and saturated so well that I can boost the gain and reach levels of loudness and clarity I never knew were possible without clipping, or
  2. Have the elements of a song mixed, EQed, compressed, panned, and saturated so well that I can boost the gain and reach levels of loudness and clarity while clipping but also keep the dynamics very much in tact. Like I mentioned, I believe proper saturation and limiting can contribute to this happening and can be powerful tools for adding / controlling energy in a specific area of a mix)
You may have noticed that I'm using similar terms..."adding" and "controlling energy" in a mix. EQ, compression, and saturation are the main elements that I know of that contribute to this in ways that can only be understood by playing around with the sounds yourself. Unfortunately this is one instance where the limit of the English language presents itself and is like trying to explain to someone that is blind what the color red looks like.
To give an overall analogy of the EQ process, I will give the following example. Let's say you have water in a closed container filled just enough so that the water comes close to touching the cap (just below clipping) or filled to the point that the water is applying a gentle pressure to the cap (lightly clipping). Now let's say you want to mix that water with another substance, but you still are only limited to the amount of space you have in that container. If you were to simply add the other liquid to the water, the pressure of the water would increase, restricting movement (blocky-sounding mix) and the integrity of the container would be compromised (bad clipping/distortion). An obvious solution here is to reduce the water levels and add how ever much of the other liquid and stir until you get the consistency that you want, where you now have two substances coexisting in the same space without causing excess pressure on the container.
A key piece of obvious advice that you can get from this analogy is that it is generally better to reduce gain first and then increase gain after you have removed and addressed all problem frequencies. Since clipping is caused by energy build up in a certain frequency range, it is usually ideal to clean up your sound in a way that makes the elements in a certain frequency range between two or more tracks clear and distinct but also so that there is more than enough headroom for boosting the gain in these areas further on down the line in the mastering process.
Nowadays I mix with low gain levels so that I can really hear the dynamics before they're squashed by too much gain (this is before I compress). I used to be very eager to get my mix loud and would boost the gain levels whenever possible as much as possible, but in the end this leaves you no headroom for mastering and compression down the line that likely sets great m&m engineers apart from the rest.
Last EQ tip: High- and low-pass filters can really, really do wonders for shaping your sound. I personally use low-pass filters on pretty much every track in my mix to avoid those frequencies building up later on, but also especially on bass lines I can really establish the shape I want with a low-pass. High-pass filters can also be useful, for instance on a kick to free up the high frequencies for the hi-hat or whatever you have playing up there.
Compression
\** I updated part of this section after a fellow redditor explained to me some principles about compression that I didn't quite understand. I have since put these principles into practice and my mixes sound even better now. The beauty of the internet, Reddit and open-mindedness :)****
To explain compression in respect to EQ I will give the following analogy. If EQing can be likened to preparing a meal that is functional (will provide you energy, has all three macronutrients), I think compression can be likened to adding a little sugar and spice in order to amplify the already desirable elements of that meal. When I initially wrote this post, I mentioned that compressing before EQing was generally discouraged as you're simply working with / amplifying problem frequencies that haven't been dealt with yet that are just muddying up the clarity of your mix, but thanks to a few people in the comments this has been debunked and it really just depends on what you're trying to achieve. This is why I really tried to stray away from making it seem like anything I said here is set in stone as general advice to always follow. Like I have said and like many people in the comments have said, there can be multiple ways of creating the same effect using different techniques.
It's difficult for me to explain the effect of compression without using a lot of the same terminology I use for describing the EQ process because compression can also help to achieve clarity and dynamics, just in a different way that is hard to describe. When I first started working with compression I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and because of that I resorted to lowering the wet signal which 'worked' for getting what I wanted but all it did was give me a watered down version of what I actually could be hearing. I only resorted to doing that because I didn't fully understand what the attack, release, ratio and threshold knobs were really doing and noticed that my sound would always get 'messed up' when I had my compressor set to 100% wet.
I'm not gonna go too much in-depth trying to explain what each knob does because this post is already long but I would suggest starting with a long attack and a long release, bringing the threshold down until it's at a point where it should be affecting your signal but it's not because your attack is so high, then shortening the attack and release slowly and individually in order to really hear what the attack and release are doing to your signal. A long attack means you're letting more of the signal through before the compressor clamps down, a long release means you're giving the compressor a good amount of time to let the signal "bounce back up". There is a delicate balance between these two that you want to strike if you want to achieve a certain loudness / fullness without compromising clarity or the dynamics you want. Generally you will want to keep the release short-medium so that the compressed signal can be heard but also "come up for air" before it's compressed again.
Compression is definitely an art and something you get a better understanding of if you just practice. Too much compression or improper compression can result in a loss of clarity, musicality and breathability in a mix. When I say breathability, I mean HDR where the bass strikes at a solid volume, but then backs away for a few milliseconds as the mid-range takes front and center, or vice versa. EQ helps to achieve clarity, but compression can help breath life into those elements and make them compliment and work with each other to create a mix that is alive and engaging. A big mistake I made when I first started was simply not knowing how to use a compressor properly.
Panning
Ideally I would have covered this before compression because I generally address this in a mix before I compress, but I thought my segue from EQ to compression was helpful in order to connect the dots and see how they are connected. Panning can be used to bring clarity to a track and achieve pretty significant stereo separation, sometimes more so or just as much as EQing can. This is because stereo width is vast and can allow for multiple tracks in a mix with predominance in the same frequency range to happily coexist without drowning each other out or causing clipping. But even with that being said one shouldn't rely solely or mostly on panning to achieve clarity. I've found that the perfect balance of EQ, compression, and panning working in conjunction can enable some of the most professional-sounding separation and clarity. Just like with EQing and compressing, less can be more here. You can pan a track out wide, but keep in mind that panning can also subtly change a sound's transients (shape) and also how it sits in a mix.
Saturation
Unfortunately I do not have as good of an analogy to describe saturation in a way that is easy to understand as a novice, but what I can say is that saturation can very much help with beefing up a sound without losing too many dynamics, or even just adding some cool harmonics that weren't there before. This is because saturation is actually distortion, and light distortion of an audio signal can usually result in some pretty pleasing harmonics that weren't there before. Again, less is more here. Saturation can be pretty effective as a last or next-to-last destination for your signal or even entire master track in order to add some subtle but cool dynamic movements that give a sound character and warmth.
Delays & Reverb
I've primarily found delays and reverb to be useful in adding a life-like, right-in-front-of-you type sound and also for engineering / decorating what I like to call the "soundscape", which is the overall available stereo width outside of the general width that most of the rest of the sounds are occupying.
One of my favorite, most used delays is Ableton's ping pong delay which I use to create some cool, dream-like harmonics and sounds. Probably my favorite thing about delays in general is how you can create almost an entirely different sound that isn't distorted in anyway since you're not messing with the gain of a track. At least for that delay I've found that increasing the Dry/Wet past 25% can result in a pretty noticeable reduction of track volume as the sound's signal gets dispersed into the soundscape, so to make up for that I usually increase the track gain by a few dBs.
Some tricks you can use with delays is to use them to add stereo width, create an atmosphere, and make a track sit back in the mix, and sometimes even tame harsh frequencies (if your delay has a built-in high- or low-pass filter). Although I really wouldn't say that is a go-to solution for taming harsh frequencies, it's more so an effect that can happen if you have a high-pass filter enabled.
Mastering
\**I'm writing this a few hours after initially posting this because a few people mentioned in the comments that I didn't touch on mastering, which is an honest mistake on my part. I rushed this post a bit toward the end because I had to be somewhere****
For those who don't know, mastering [a single track] is basically the process of putting the finishing touches on a mix, generally by using some combination of compression, EQ, limiting, and stereo enhancement in the master buss. By doing this you're able to unify the elements of a mix even more so than they already are, better establish the overall dynamics, and most importantly increase loudness to "radio-ready" levels.
The phrase 'mixing and mastering' is often used in conjunction with really just mixing, when mastering is said by many to be a completely separate art in and of itself. To be honest I think it was a bit misleading for me to say I have five years of mixing and mastering experience...what I definitely have is five years of mixing experience, with some what you could call 'mastering' experience. I say this because there is a difference between mastering a song and mastering an album. When you only have to master an individual song, all you have to do is bring the elements in that track into coherence and polish things off. But when you have to master an album (which I don't have experience doing) that's a lot different...I would imagine that achieving a uniform sound across all tracks in an album that may have been recorded with different equipment, mixed differently, etc. without losing the essence of those tracks is a pretty daunting task.
With that said, I will offer some techniques that have worked really for me:
- Once I'm happy with my mix and everything sounds pretty good together, I'll increase the gain in the master until it sounds close to 'loud enough'. Of course I know that 'loud enough' is very ambiguous and subjective and there are meters you can read to determine loudness, but I guess what I mean is increasing the gain until I fill up my headphones a bit more, but I'm not anywhere near close to clipping and my dynamics aren't compromised. If I find that I still have a lot of headroom after increasing the gain, but now my dynamics have fallen out of place, I will fix that by adjusting the compressor settings, mostly by lowering the ratio. I could see someone arguing here that you shouldn't use the master compressor to correct dynamics after increasing the gain but it's worked well for me thus far. If there is someone that knows of a different way, objects, would like to murder me in my sleep for suggesting this method, please let me know in the comments.
- Finally after lightly compressing (long attack, longish release), I will add a little saturation. Again placing emphasis on light compression...you want to glue all the elements of the mix together without changing the dynamics...unless you are trying to change the dynamics, as I discussed in the last paragraph.

Last Words / A Few More Tips to Take With a Grain of Salt

Like I mentioned, with the bulk of the knowledge / approaches I've shared here, my sound quality has increased pretty substantially to the point that I have been creating now more so than ever. I know one thing that held me back from producing more in the past was the fact that I just didn't know my way around my DAW and it was incredibly frustrating trying to bring the vision I held in my mind into reality. But now that I have this knowledge, I can mix and master a track in as little as a few hours or a day, rather than either multiple days when I first started or where I would just move on from the song completely and leave it unfinished because the shape, muddiness, and lack of dynamics had gotten to a certain level and I didn't know how to correct it.
- Another thing I would strongly recommend is to take breaks. I know it can be tempting to work on a mix for hours upon hours on end, but ear fatigue is real and can contribute to making poor decisions down the line as you can't hear certain things / problems as well as you can when you've given your ears time to rest.
- In general, and to sum up of all my "secrets" to getting a decent sound, when I start working on a mix I will gather / record all elements I plan to have in the mix and establish gain levels before I start doing anything else so that I can set the dynamics and shape early on. If you wait until after you've applied a bunch of effects on other tracks in the mix before you add another layer, you may end up with clipping issues that arise because you didn't properly compensate for the added gain in certain frequency ranges.
- At least in Ableton and with my iZotope Neutron 2 plug-in, I noticed that even if I have a compression plug-in applied to a track but with no threshold set, it would still affect my overall signal in a very subtle way. So if you want to minimize the probability that your mix will become overly distorted, thin, and anti-musical be sure to pay attention to how many compression plug-ins you have turned on and what their Dry/Wet levels are because I've found that they all actually can build on each other and produce an undesirable, thin "compressy" sound once everything is mixed.
- I think it's generally good practice to be constantly turning devices / plug-ins on and off, especially if you're a beginner, to see if the work you're doing in that plug-in is actually making your sound better or worse. It can be easy to think for instance, that adding a compressor and making things a little louder is making the mix sound better, but once you turn it off you realize the shape / dynamics / clarity of your sound was compromised. It doesn't mean that you can't use that plug-in necessarily, in fact all if means in most cases is that you need to adjust some knobs or input / output gain levels in order to reap the benefits of that plug-in / effect without compromising the integrity of your mix.
That's everything I can think of that I wanted to share. I hope this advice helps someone and can save someone some time trying to figure these things out. I know if someone explained things to me in these ways before I would have learned much more quickly.

Lockdown 3.0 Things to do, plus help and support.

Disclaimer I want to thank everyone for the gilds, replies and suggestions. I just do not have time to reply to everyone, but I am reading everything. I am not sure how much bigger the thread can be, I already typed this but it vanished so I think I'm at the limit. I will try to keep updating, but I don't expect the thread to be up top for much longer and will likely vanish soon, so if you need anything save it.
Yes, it's hard, it sucks, it's depressing. It is something we all have to do if you want to see this virus go. Everyone knows the deal, too many think they're the exception but no one is. However, staying home is hard so maybe I can help at least one or two people with some incentives. I'll try to give links to some things that can help cure the boredom, and some support if you need it.
Most of this might be obvious to some, some might not even have internet and of course, money is a big issue, so I'll try to give some suggestions:
For streaming and on demand things such as Netflix et al, don't forget you can subscribe for free for your first month. This goes for most things in the list. If you are worried about putting in your payment details and forgetting to cancel a month later, don't worry! You can sign up and immediately cancel and you still get your free month!
For people who don't have a smart TV, you can buy a cheap Amazon Fire TV stick or a Roku box. The Fire stick can go as low as £20 often for 1080p. It will drop to £30 for 4k.
I picked up a 4k Roku device for £18 on Amazon once. It's fast and snappy. currently it's going for £33 for the 4k version. Having both, there is little difference between the devices. NowTV also do their own roku powered device.
Subscription based streaming sites that all offer 2-4 weeks free for first timers
  • Netflix *According to comments the second month is free.
  • Amazon Prime You can either get Amazon video on its own, or take prime with other benefits. I strongly urge those who use Amazon for buying off their store front to use [https://smile.amazon.co.uk/] as there is literally no difference except everything you buy amazon donates to a charity of your choice.
  • Now TV (I believe it's 7 days)
  • Disney+
  • Britbox
  • Amazon channels. I believe you can get all these individually but Amazon offers them as channels bound to your prime account, and they are again either free for a couple weeks (again, take them, cancel instantly) or very cheap. I recently subscribed to Starzplay for £1 for 3 months. It has some good shows on it like Fringe, doom patrol. It also has channels like Curiosity stream and shudder
If you have not subscribed to the any of the above, you can get a few months of free TV by signing up and cancelling instantly. I suggest waiting at least 5 minutes just to let it go through the system.
Some tips for Now TV. IF you already have a subscription, I've noticed you can get it cheaper by cancelling. When you cancel they will beg you to stay. Select "I can not afford it this month" and they should beg again, telling you what shows they have. If you say you still want to cancel, they'll beg one last time and offer you the subscription for cheaper. This won't work every month, but I've noticed they'll always offer it the first time, then again after a couple months. If you're subscribed to both films and entertainment do the most expensive one as it may not work both times (but it might!). You can also pick up passes from storefronts a lot cheaper sometimes, before I could pick one up on Amazon for £3 but, they seem to have cracked down on it. If you shop around (or if anyone knows of a legitimate store please let me know) you might be able to pick it up cheaper. Lastly, check their website and under your account they should have an "offers for you" section.
Completely free TV
If you do have a smart TV and/or device, there are some good free streaming apps. One I really love is called PlutoTV. I know this is on both Roku and the fire stick, as well as Ps4/Ps5 and xbox.
Pluto offers a bunch of live channels and now an on demand section, all for free. It has adverts but they are actually short (shorter than regular TV and fewer of them). Some of the channels are just streaming certain shows like Mythbusters 24/7 or Dog the bounty hunter, but it has a lot of old movie channels as well as 24/7 kickboxing and MMA. It also has a 24/7 poker channel I quite like.
Another one I like is Rakuten Viki however, I haven't watched it for a while as my fire stick is only 1080p and I have too many other devices attached. I believe it is on Roku but you have to jump through some hoops and have an account. The last I checked on the fire stick you did not. Viki offers a metric ton of Asian shows, mainly from Japan and South Korea but it does have chinese, Malaysian etc. It has subtitles. Some Japanese shows are hysterical, albeit weird.
Roku also do their own channels with free shows if you own a device.
For those who don't have a smart TV or a Streaming device, you can set up your own computer as a dedicated streaming device with Plex. It's been a while since I used it but I believe it now also offers free movies and TV.
Anime
If you are into Anime there is
The first 2 are free to watch, or offer premium without ads which you can have a trial with. Crunchyroll is the better of the two with more original choice for Japanese voice and subs, while Funimation has more Dubs. I don't believe HiDive is free to watch but you do get a 2 week trial. These are more exclusives than the previous two.
PC Centric software
If you are a gamer or like Audiobooks or anything that uses computers for things like music making, programming or graphic design
Humble Bundle offers, as per the name, bundles. A long running site that got bought out by IGN. It offers both single items and bundles you can buy individually/as a pack while also offering a separate monthly subscription for around £8-9. The subscription gives you 12 games on average per month. That's the simplest explanation but it changes somewhat as sometimes you get to pick 10 out of 14 games, or get all 12.
Humble bundle offers more than just games though. Every Tuesday they bring a new bundle of games, while Thursday (I "think) a new bundle of books. They very often have books from the Black Library giving you a ton of Warhammer books. Sometimes it's standard E-books, other times it's audiobooks. A few times a year they do bundles for graphic design, a typical bundle would include programs like Paintshop Pro Corel Painter etc, They usually go for £0.76 for tier 1 up to around £18 for tier 3, which would include 4-6 full titles with 10+ addons. They also often have Music making bundles or video editing software as well as Programming or video game development.
The bundles change often, they usually have around 11 bundles at a time that last for 20 days. Sometimes it's trash but they do often have some very good deals.
Fanatical offers the same as humble bundle except usually not as high quality, but sometimes they do have some incredible deals, and they are very very cheap.
Both humble and fanatical are safe, trusted and been around a long time, and they are NOT grey market key sites. They work with the publishers and developers. You can buy games both old and new for a lot cheaper than you would most other places. Unless it states otherwise, keys are usually for steam.
**BOTH HB and Fanatical (HB much more common) offer free games fairly often. The catch is linking your steam account to them (at least HB). It is safe however.
IndieGala is another site like above. Except, these are much much lower quality. However, they offer a metric ton of free games. Quality is low but it is legitimate, and a lot of free stuff.
Game Store Fronts
  • Steam This one is so obvious I didn't add it, but apparently many want me to. It is the best out there, and you can find almost everything, with fantastic deals.
  • Greenmangaming offers games cheaply. Again, not a grey market site (which are legal but unethical) and they sometimes do bundles.
  • GoG (Good old games) is a DRM free site run by CDPR, the makers of the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. They offer you games quite cheap and not needing DRM (such as Steam, Uplay etc which is less invasive versions of dodgy DRM from the olden days).
  • Epic Games Despite the controversy whether you care about their rivalry with valve, they offer free games ever week. Without ever having bought anything I have gained over 170 games. literally. Good games for the most part. They often give you £10 coupons as well.
  • Twitch Everyone knows twitch, but if you don't, it's a streaming service for watching gamers and girls with low cut tops accidentally bending over in front of the game. However, if you're signed up to prime, you get free games each month (and randomly between the set bunch).
  • Playstation Store Currently has January sales. Currently the free games for PS+ are for PS4: Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Greedfall. For the Ps5 it is Maneater
  • Games with Gold Bleed 2 and the King of Fighters XIII is available until Janurary 15th whilst little Nightmares is available until January 31st.
Gaming Subscriptions
Like the TV versions, you can sign up to these for a free trial (or very cheap). If you do sign up to only one at a time, it should keep you busy for a few months
  • Xbox Game Pass You can do this on both/either an Xbox or PC. If you sign up to the regular one, you can get a month (maybe three!) for £1. After you have done that, you can sign up to the premium version for 3 months at £1 a month. Most people know game pass, but you can download a large selection of games for free. The premium version gives you games with gold, allowing you to keep the games forever (but can only play with a subscription)
  • Ubisoft+ I'm not 100% sure if you get a trial or not. This allows a large collection of Ubisoft titles to play for £12.99 a month. Quite expensive but good if you like Ubisoft titles I guess.
  • EA Play EA's version. Goes by a ton of names I think, EA Access, EA Play, Origin Access etc etc. There's a couple of versions of this, and it is across all platforms (PS4/5, Xbox, PC) but not sure about the switch. I "think" the premium allows you to play on all platforms, while the cheaper one on a single platform, but I may be mistaken.
  • PS Now a once terrible service that is now actually very good. Allows you to download some Ps4 games to your PS4/5 and lets you stream a massive amount of Ps2/3/4 to your PC or playstation.
There's more like nvidia's service but you need the Shield device which is quite expensive. I'll leave it at that.
Audiobooks & Ebooks
  • Audible Not sure what the current deal is but if you are a prime member you can sign up for a trial and get a free Audiobook each month for 3 months. Some warhammer books are 48 hours long, 3 of those gives you a good 100+ hours of listening!
  • Comixology Another Amazon company, but lets you download some free comics I believe.
  • Marvel Unlimited No experience with this. ItFuckingWont wanted me to add it. A subscription service for Marvel.
Education
  • Sign Language BSL here No experience myself, suggested by n21brown and asked for a few times. Didn't know SL was so popular! Listed as "Pay what you can"
  • BBC's Bitesize here is apparently good for home learning. Again, no personal experience.
If you need some spare change
Okay, I don't generally bother with it, but maybe some of this could be useful to you. These are NOT a quick way to make a fortune. These are small things you can do over time for a bit of pocket change
  • If you have prime you can get a FREE FIVE POUND GIFT CARD by literally just streaming a song from Amazon music (which is included in prime) here is the details According to the comments it's only for select people, but it's worth trying If the link doesn't work for you just google "Amazon £5 coupon music"
  • Now, these sorts of sites have been around for years, I haven't used any other than talkInsights which I must have signed up to 10-15 years ago. Basically they send you surveys and you answer them. They are confidential and don't ask for personal details in the survey. You need 2000 points and you get £20. During the pandemic they've slowed down but I probably get around £40 a year. Not much I know, but it's an email followed by a quick survey ticking boxes. Depending on your answer sometimes you get screened out, I'm not telling you to lie but just be consistent with your answers and you should be able to work out how to not get screened. Some emails are only worth 20 points, others 200. It's slow to get to the 2000 but very quick to just answer a few questions.
  • Apparently beermoneyuk is a good sub to make some pocket change with.
  • There is also matched betting. I have never done this, I don't have the patience but from what I've read, it's legitimate, it works and you can make a fair amount of cash from it so long as you do it correctly, and there's a ton of guides. I mention this because people stuck at home could get into it and as long as you're careful (I.E not entering in the wrong numbers) it's risk free AND it pisses off the betting shops. It seems people in comments have had success with it. Disclaimer A couple have complained about gambling. This arguably is not gambling. If you are susceptible to addiction do not do it. However, it's argued that there is no fun or buzz in this, and it's a very tedious and time consuming thing. Others argue you can't make the same money anymore (People were making thousands, now only hundreds if that). It's risk free providing you know what you're doing, the risks are user error, such as entering the wrong numbers. Someone pointed out that due to the lockdown, bets could potentially be cancelled due to sport stopping. So use on a side of caution. We're (mainly) adults so I'll leave it up just because this doesn't have the excitement of regular gambling.
  • Microsoft Rewards This is an easy way to make pocket change doing very little. Most people have a MS account. The rewards program offers you numerous ways to grab points, by playing free to play games, answering small questions (you don't even need to answer most of the time, just open the link and shut it) and by using bing and searching on it. I've gotten 20k points JUST by answering questions over a couple months. There are many rewards but you can grab a £5 gift card for 6k for example, or a month of game pass (and AFAIK you can make points playing the games)
  • Google rewards Someone mentioned this in the comments. I have not used it, so can not give any input on it. Sounds similar to TalkInsights which I linked. Google states "Complete short surveys while standing in line, or waiting for a subway. Get rewarded with Google Play or PayPal credit for each one you complete. Topics include everything from opinion polls, to hotel reviews, to merchant satisfaction surveys. We’ll notify you when a survey is waiting."
That's it for now. I will try to update as I go along. A long post but I hope that it can help some of you with finding something good to do that's free, cheap or a bargain. I do suggest getting prime, especially since you get free music, free delivery, free TV and music and free video games each month. In fact, there's a ton of perks and I feel I've gotten way over the cost investment.
Hope it helps someone at least

HEALTH
I'm not a doctor! But if you're a smoker, something I strongly suggest is to quit. I struggled for years but in the first lockdown I quit, technically. I haven't had a cigarette since, however, I do that silly thing millennials do. I vape, but, it made quitting extremely easy. I would not have been able to do it if it wasn't for 88Vape They sell extremely cheap liquids at £1 each. You can find these in B&M but you can pick up 25 for £20 or buy your own mix.
Vitamin D deficiency has been said to be a big problem for the virus. I'd suggest (again, not a doctor!) that you pick some up. Tesco do a 3 for 2 deal. So you can pick up 270 tablets for £7.
If you are vulnerable you MIGHT be able to phone tesco and get put on their delivery saver list (currently it's paused but phoning may help. At the very least they might give you a priority slot. I did this for my mum, we didn't shop at Tesco but I phoned for her, and they put her on with no hassle, so she can always get a delivery.
HELP & ADVICE
The lockdown Rules.
Reasons to leave home include:
  • Work or volunteering where it is "unreasonable" to work from home. This includes work in someone else's home, such as that carried out by social workers, nannies, cleaners and tradespeople
  • Education, training, childcare and medical appointments and emergencies
  • Exercise outdoors (limited to once a day). This includes meeting one other person from another household in an open public space to exercise
  • Shopping for essentials such as food and medicine
  • Communal religious worship
  • Meeting your support or childcare bubble. Children can also move between separated parents Activities related to moving house
I want to add, if you are in danger you are also allowed (and must!) to get away from the situation for some reason, BBC seems to have missed this very important thing (or I am blind)
Support
FOR THOSE SHIELDING YOU CAN CONTACT THE ROYAL VOLUNTARY SERVICE. These people helped my mother with picking up her medicine from the chemist. They were very helpful and went out their way to keep in touch and do it immediately. (It's the only experience I have with them though)
_riotingpacifist wanted these links added, but I simply just don't have the time to vet and check all the suggestions here, so I will link as is:
Update:
Digital Art
These are Free
  • Krita Arguably the best in my opinion. It has a load of options, brushes and a decent UI. It works fantastic with a tablet.
  • Gimp This is a decent program but last I used, the UI was a pain, and it isn't so user friendly while misses features, but it works, and it is possible to do some incredible creations on it.
  • Medibang Paint This is slightly geared towards Comics and Manga. I really enjoy using this with my drawing Tablet. As far as I know, it also for regular tablets for Android/Ipad and is free.
You can pick up a drawing tablet on Amazon quite cheap these days! Small ones that are just a black slate such as the wacom ones are good but takes some practice to get use to, but very worth it if you can't afford a dedicated drawing tablet with a screen.
Office suit software
A couple of free applications for word processing, spreadsheets etc.
  • LibreOffice This has most the average user would need to write their own books or to work from home. There's not a huge amount of difference between the two I'm linking (since I last used anyway) so it's more for preference.
  • Open Office You can pick this up here and again, like above it's just preference.
Music Making
I'm going to direct to matthewharris806 for some links as all the programs I've used like Reason are expensive, or cheaper stuff in bundles such as Magix software.
Games development
D_Dad_Default gives some links for that here
